These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of the Research Hub Africa mobile application, website, and related services.
By creating an account, accessing, or using Research Hub Africa, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you should not use the platform.
Research Hub Africa is a digital ecosystem that supports academic research, professional networking, scientific publishing, clinical knowledge sharing, mentorship, and multidisciplinary collaboration across university disciplines.
The platform enables users to:

Upload scholarly works

Collaborate on research

Access institutional protocols

To use Research Hub Africa you must:
be at least 18 years of age or have permission from your institution where applicable;
provide accurate registration information;

comply with all applicable laws, institutional policies, and ethical standards.
You are responsible for:
maintaining the security of your account;
ensuring the accuracy of your profile information;
keeping your password confidential;
all activities conducted through your account.
Research Hub Africa reserves the right to suspend accounts involved in fraudulent or abusive activities.
Research Hub Africa operates a tiered verification system.
Professional verification may require:
institutional email addresses;
professional affiliations;
LinkedIn profiles;
ORCID identifiers;
additional supporting documentation where necessary.
Verification grants access to selected professional features but does not constitute endorsement, certification, or licensing by Research Hub Africa.
Verification may be revoked if false or misleading information is provided.
Users may contribute content including:

Theses
Dissertations
Lecture notes
Institutional protocols
Clinical signals
Peer notes
Comments
Research topics
Collaboration requests
You represent that you own the rights to the content you upload or have obtained the necessary permissions to share it.
Users retain ownership of their original work.
By uploading content to Research Hub Africa, you grant the platform a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to:
display your content;
index it for searching;
distribute it within the platform;
promote it in connection with Research Hub Africa services.
This license ends when the content is permanently removed from the platform, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate archival purposes.
Research Hub Africa respects intellectual property rights.
Users must not upload copyrighted materials without authorization or an applicable license.
If you believe your copyrighted work has been used improperly, you may submit a copyright complaint to Research Hub Africa. We reserve the right to remove allegedly infringing content while the matter is reviewed.
Repeated copyright violations may result in account suspension or permanent termination.
Users uploading clinical cases, medical images, or public health reports must ensure that:
all patient identifiers have been removed;
uploaded materials comply with institutional ethics and applicable privacy laws;
appropriate permissions have been obtained where required.
Research Hub Africa assumes no responsibility for improperly anonymized content submitted by users.
Institutional protocols shared on the platform represent the practices of the contributing institution.
They are provided for educational and collaborative purposes only and should not automatically replace local policies, national guidelines, or professional judgment.
Clinical Signals are intended to facilitate professional awareness and discussion.
They:
represent observations submitted by verified users;
are not official outbreak declarations;
should not replace guidance issued by recognized public health authorities.
Research Hub Africa may generate AI-assisted educational summaries, including:

These summaries are intended to improve discoverability and understanding of research content.
Users should consult the original publication before making academic, research, or clinical decisions.
Research Hub Africa generates a dynamic Research Impact Score based on community engagement, including professional interactions such as peer notes, recommendations, comments, readership, and other platform activities.
The Research Impact Score is an internal engagement metric and should not be interpreted as an official academic ranking or institutional performance indicator.
Research Hub Africa provides tools that enable users to connect for:
Research collaborations
Multicenter studies
Clinical trials
Grants
Mentorship
AI and Machine Learning partnerships
Data analysis
Public health initiatives
Research Hub Africa does not guarantee the success, quality, funding, legality, or outcomes of collaborations formed through the platform.
Users agree to uphold the highest standards of academic and scientific integrity.
Users must not:
fabricate research data;
falsify results;
plagiarize published work;
manipulate scientific images;
misrepresent authorship;
misuse artificial intelligence to create fraudulent research;
submit misleading public health information.
Violation of these principles may result in content removal, suspension, or permanent account termination.
Users must not:
impersonate another individual or institution;
upload malicious software;
interfere with platform operations;
harass, threaten, or abuse other users;
manipulate engagement metrics or Research Impact Scores;
upload unlawful, defamatory, or misleading material;
attempt unauthorized access to platform systems.
Research Hub Africa reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, applicable laws, or community standards.
Where appropriate, users may be notified and given an opportunity to respond before permanent action is taken.
Research Hub Africa provides the platform on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
While reasonable efforts are made to maintain accurate and reliable services, we do not guarantee that:
all content is complete or error-free;
services will be uninterrupted;
user-generated content is scientifically accurate;
collaborations will be successful.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Research Hub Africa, EviForge Ventures, and their affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from:
use of the platform;
reliance on user-generated content;
research outcomes;
clinical decisions;
collaboration agreements;
loss of data or business opportunities.
Research Hub Africa may revise these Terms from time to time.
Material updates will be communicated through the application, website, or other appropriate channels.
Continued use of the platform after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without prejudice to any mandatory rights users may have under applicable laws in their jurisdiction.
